We did an analysis of the following texts:
Michel Foucault, “Der Panoptismus” in Überwachen und Strafen: Die Geburt des Gefängnisses (Frankfurt am Main: Suhrkamp, 2008)
Efe Basturk, “A brief Analyse on Post Panoptic Surveillance: Deleuze&Guattarian Approach”, 2017, International Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. VI, No. 2 / 2017
Surveillance is a form of observation. What gives a better insight in the concept of surveillance is from diffrent perspectives like a citizens, governmental, political and so on. The "panopticon" is an architectual translation of a survaillance in form of a building and a big statement. It was introduced in the 17th century and enabled a govermental survaillance which was obvious to all parties, oberserver and the one who is observed. It symbolizes and is often reffered to as one of the first forms of surveillance in this architectual and obvious form. In the Post-panopticon times the surveillance has changed form the traditional governmental power and boundaries in general are much more unclear and untransparent. Reason for this is the technologie and the goal of interconnections to create a big web of fast possible contact through the internet. Now that we leave a track it is not only the goverment that is observing.
